Jill vs The Blinds

Let me forewarn you that the story of this blog post isn't really all that thrilling; in fact, it's pretty mundane. That being said, you should stick around for the pictures because, like smiling, it's worth it. (Click here if you don't get the reference.)

So far this summer, it's been just me and Sara, but as of Thursday, Jill has joined us, too! We're really excited to have another room mate. Last night, we were all sitting in the kitchen just hanging out and whatnot when we began to discuss the blind situation in our kitchen. You see, we have blinds on the windows and then curtains that were here from previous owners over the blinds. The blinds have always been all the way up and the curtains all the way down. See? Mundane. But wait! Here comes intrigue...the curtains don't work! Ooo. Ex. Cite. Ing.

As the three of us were sitting there, we decided that we should figure out how to fix them. We began working on them, and before too long, we had them fixed. They're still a little janky, but they work considerably better than they did before. We also, in this process, started playing with the blinds. I think we were maybe trying to get them all the way up, or all the way down...one of them.
"Milking" the blinds, as Jill so coined it.

At some point, the blinds weren't really responding like they ought to and then this happened:
Notice that the blinds are at the bottom of the window, not the top.
Oops.
Upon observing the blinds further, it's not just that they fell, but they actually broke in half.
Super human strength but still sad Jill.
Maybe this was one of those stories that you had to witness, but we were all dying of laughter while precariously balancing on chairs, of course. We're hoping our land lord will be nice and supply us with a new set of blinds, but if not, we'll somehow manage to scrounge up the four bucks and buy a new set.
